Welcome to the East Anglian Railway Museum
We are a living heritage site based at the rural Chappel railway station, near Colchester, on the edge of Constable Country and next to one of the largest railway viaducts in Eastern England.
Our atmospheric Victorian buildings, restored trains, carriages and Signal Boxes tell a unique story of railways and people's lives in East Anglia from the 1840s to the present day.
There is plenty here for the kids - follow the trail of Milo Mouse and his cousins, dress up as the Station Master, pull the heavy levers in our our Signal Box.
We are an accredited museum, part of the European Route of Industrial Heritage and a VisitEngland Quality Assured Visitor attraction.
